Training:

On-snow training will be held for a minimum of 20 Days at Treble Cone and neighboring Snow Park, with a minimum of 4 hours on snow each day. Dryland training, ski tuning, and video analysis with the TCRA coaches will be conducted at the Lookout Lodge after on-snow training. Near the conclusion of the camp each eligible athlete will have the chance to participate in three K-Cup races at Cardrona, including a Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super G.

Program outline:

This camp was created to give our young athletes a chance to train alongside some older and more experienced FIS athletes. This camp will coincide with our FIS ENL Camp, giving the kids a chance to learn everything from on-hill techniques to ski-tuning tricks from their older peers. They will also have a chance to participate in 3 National Points events, giving them a taste of what it’s like to compete at a national level. Our professional coaching staff will be sure to get the athletes excited about their future in ski racing.

Because of the intensity of this program, we insist that all athletes are present during the entire duration of the camp. All athletes must arrive in Queenstown, New Zealand on the 11th of July. We will arrange pick-up at the airport as long as your athlete arrives on one of these days only. The departure date for all Pre-FIS athletes will be the 2nd of August, flying out of Queenstown. We will provide transport to the airport as long as they do fly out on the 3rd, but we will not be responsible for athletes who choose to extend their stay beyond this date. We will not be able to provide accommodation beyond this departure date. We will assist you as best we can with the airline arrangements.

Accommodation:

Athletes will be placed in one of two Academy Lodges, the Te Awa Lodge or the Lookout Lodge. TCRA will provide Half Board, which is breakfast and dinner. Athletes will be responsible for packing or purchasing their own lunch. Fresh and delicious dinners will be prepared by local chefs and served daily at the Lookout Lodge.

Transport:

TCRA vans from the Lodge to the Training venue (TC and SnowPark) and back, and to all Academy activities. Pick up from and drop off to the Queenstown airport will be provided.

Uniform:

Upon arrival each athlete will receive a TCRA-branded uniform package that he or she will be able to keep when the camp is over.

Lift Passes:

A TCRA Lift Pass will enable athletes to access Treble Cone and Snowpark.

Recreational Activities:

On days off, the athletes will have the opportunity to join in on recreational activities; however costs of Recreational Activities are not included in the price of the camp.

*Please Note:

  • Air Transportation is not included in the price of the camp. Air travel to and from Queenstown Airport must be arranged separately.
  • A NZD 2,500 Down Payment will be required at time of booking. This will ensure a spot for the athlete. The Booking Deadline for this camp is June 1st, 2009.
