Training:

On-snow training will involve a minimum of 4 hours on snow each training day, at Treble Cone and neighboring Snow Park. A Dryland training program will be developed by the Academy’s own physiotherapist and fitness coach and will be conducted at the Academy Lodge and the Academy Gym along with ski tuning, and video analysis with the TCRA coaches after on-snow training. Each eligible athlete will have the chance to participate in several FIS races (Coronet Peak, Treble Cone), including the ANC Finals in Mt Hutt ONLY for the athletes choosing Option 2. Please refer to the SRNZ race calendar for race dates.

Program outline:

You will train alongside some of the best World Cup athletes in the world, and you will also have the chance to improve your world ranking with some fantastic international races held right here at Treble Cone, Coronet Peak, and Mt. Hutt! Our Elite FIS coaches will give you the confidence and tools you need. With incredible world class facilities and coaching staff, and the opportunity to train alongside the best in the world, the Treble Cone Race Academy is the premier place in the southern hemisphere when it comes to high quality Alpine Ski Racing camps.

We will be offering two options for our Elite Camp, as shown above. The arrival day for all Elite athletes is August 10, 2009. Airfare is not included in the camp, and must be arranged separately. We have a contact at Air NZ, Cyrus Berry who will assist you with your travel arrangements. TCRA will provide transportation from the Queenstown Airport as long as the athlete arrives this designated arrival day. The departure date for Elite athletes choosing Option 2 will be the 6th of September. TCRA will provide transport to Queenstown airport on this day. The departure date for Elite athletes choosing Option 1 will be September 13th, after the Mt. Hutt ANC Finals. Because Mt Hutt is much close to Christchurch than Queenstown, athletes staying for Option 1 should book their flight home out of Christchurch. TCRA will provide transport to the Christchurch airport. TCRA will not be responsible for athletes who choose to extend their stay beyond the camp dates.

Race Entry:

All athletes must express their intent to race in New Zealand FIS races to his/her National Organization (i.e. USSA, Snow Sports GB, etc). For each FIS race the Official FIS Entry Form must be completed and sent to SRNZ directly from the National Organization. Thus, your respective National Organization must be aware that you want to race in the NZ FIS races, otherwise they will not include you on this entry form.

Please be advised that race entry fees and lift tickets to visiting mountains are NOT included. Accommodation at Mt. Hutt will be arranged through TCRA but will be an additional charge. Anticipated race fees will be charged to each athlete 1 week prior to the race date. TCRA will represent all paid athletes at the Team Captain meetings and will negotiate additional quota with SRNZ if needed.

Accommodation:

Athletes will be placed in one of two Academy Lodges, the Te Awa Lodge or the Lookout Lodge. TCRA will provide Half Board, which is breakfast and dinner. Athletes will be responsible for packing or purchasing their own lunch. Fresh and delicious dinners will be prepared by local chefs and served daily at the Lookout Lodge.

Transport:

TCRA Vans from the Lodge to the Training venue (TC and SnowPark) and back, and to all Academy activities.

Uniform:

Upon arrival each athlete will receive a TCRA-branded uniform package that he or she will be able to keep when the camp is over.

Lift Passes:

A TCRA Lift Pass will enable athletes to access Treble Cone and Snowpark.
