A Dryland training program will be developed by the Academy's own physiotherapist and fitness coach, and will be conducted at the Academy Lodge and the ProActive Gym along with ski tuning, and video analysis (via skiclubz.com) with the TCRA coaches after on-snow training.

Program outline:

For the athletes looking to build on their FIS experience, as well as score great points, this is an incredibly tailored program to suit your needs. With a two week training block beginning in early July, TCRA will get you ready to race the New Zealand FIS GS and SL races at your home field, Treble Cone and at nearby Cardrona, which take place in the beginning of August. This is an amazing opportunity to race against international racers as well as lower your FIS points with great penalties.

All FIS athletes will be training and living together, and each will have the chance to race in the Wanaka FIS series at the end of the camp. The arrival day is the first date of the camp, July 16th. Airfare is not included in the camp, and must be arranged separately. We have a contact at Air NZ, Cyrus Berry who will assist you with your travel arrangements. TCRA will provide transportation to and from the Queenstown Airport as long as the athlete arrives and departs on the designated days. The departure date for all athletes will be the 7th of August. We will not be responsible for athletes who choose to extend their stay beyond this date. We will not be able to provide accommodation beyond this departure date because we will have new athletes arriving for our next camps.

Race Entry:

All athletes must express their intent to race in New Zealand FIS races to his/her National Organization (i.e. USSA, Snow Sports GB, etc). For each FIS race the Official FIS Entry Form must be completed and sent to SRNZ directly from the National Organization. Thus, your respective National Organization must be aware that you want to race in the NZ FIS races, otherwise they will not include you on this entry form.

Please be advised that race entry fees and lift tickets to visiting mountains are NOT included. Anticipated race fees will be charged to each athlete 1 week prior to the race date. TCRA will represent all paid athletes at the Team Captain meetings and will negotiate additional quota with SRNZ if needed.

Accommodation:

Athletes will be placed in one of two Academy Lodges, the Te Awa Lodge or the Lookout Lodge. TCRA will provide Half Board, which is breakfast and dinner. Athletes will be responsible for packing or purchasing their own lunch. Fresh and delicious dinners will be prepared by local chefs and served daily at the Lookout Lodge.

Transport:

TCRA Vans from the Lodge to the Training venue (TC and SnowPark) and back, and to all Academy activities. Pick up from and drop off to the Queenstown airport will be provided.

Uniform:

Upon arrival each athlete will receive a TCRA-branded uniform package that he or she will be able to keep when the camp is over.

Lift Passes:

A TCRA Lift Pass will enable athletes to access Treble Cone and Snowpark.

Recreational Activities:

On days off, the athletes will have the opportunity to join in on recreational activities, however the cost of recreational activities are not included in the price of the camp.

*Please Note:

  • Air Transportation is not included in the price of the camp. Air travel to and from Queenstown Airport must be arranged separately.
