Our Homestay programme has been running for a series of very successful winter seasons. It is an essential element to the Academy Race Training programme and feed back from previous years highlights what a rewarding experience it can be for the athlete and the host family.

Our Host families are very carefully chosen and go through a series of background checks and interviews before they are accepted by the TCRA. We encourage the participation of families that live in or near town so the athlete will have easy access to amenities in town. TCRA and our coaches provide a daily shuttle service to and from Treble Cone for training and races along with any other transportation needs the he/she may have. The athlete in this situation will not only interact with the athletes in his/her program, but get to know local kids and families. By participating in the Homestay programme the athlete will have a rare opportunity to really get to know and live the New Zealand culture and lifestyle.

Parents’ will have a peace of mind knowing that the athlete is well cared for and happy during their stay in New Zealand.
